Our client holds a substantial portfolio of student accommodation and is currently undertaking a significant building improvement programme across the UK. This involves upgrading and improving all of their portfolio in line with current fire safety legislation. They have an immediate requirement for an experienced Programme Manager with excellent organisational skill and knowledge of delivering complex major programmes.

Key Role Responsibilities

  • Ongoing management on behalf of the business to ensure that desired project and work-stream outcomes / objectives are delivered.
  • Ensuring an appropriate work-stream / Project Management framework is in place, incorporating review, milestones and gateways, as necessary.
  • Preparing the project brief, initiation and business case amongst other documents.
  • Appraising options and submitting for approval.
  • Coordinating and directing end user input.
  • Coordinating value management strategy.
  • Controlling changes following approval.
  • Determining and managing risks to the work-stream.
  • Managing the programme budget, including risk allowance.
  • Acting as principal point of contact for the designated work-stream.
  • Coordinating and fostering teamwork.
  • Establishing formal reporting arrangements on work-stream or project progress.
  • Defining criteria for control and management of the work-stream or project.
  • Drafting / issuing detailed reports on the work-stream or project.
  • Establishing a common approach to major issues that arise.
  • Managing work-stream / project communications and stakeholder reporting.

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Relevant building construction or property related degree
  • MRICS, MCIOB or equivalent membership
  • Be able to demonstrate technical track record
  • Be able to demonstrate management of External and Internal Teams
  • Good understand and knowledge of H&S
  • Understanding of Construction and maintenance techniques
  • A thorough understanding of fire engineering and cladding
  • Relevant experience in mid and high rise PBSA, Hotels, PRS or BTR sectors
  • Multi-site experience
  • Knowledge of material technology, durability and lifecycle
