This is where you come in…

We have several exciting opportunities for all levels of Surveyors to join our Access & Acquisitions Team within our Property Services Department.  The roles include a Property Area Manager, Senior Property Surveyor and Assistant Property Surveyor at our Head Office in Warrington and a Property Surveyor at our Mintsfeet Road office in Kendal. 

The A&A Team specialise in gaining entry to private land to carry out pipelaying works, consulting with affected landowners, occupiers and other key stakeholders and the statutory framework surrounding valuation, compensation and acquisition of land.

You will get to work alongside multidiscipline project teams to ensure the successful delivery of the Capital Programme and facilitate access to land to operate, maintain and repair our vast network of water mains and sewers across the region.  You will provide a comprehensive surveying service to other key departments including Capital Delivery & Engineering, Water & Wastewater Network Services, Developer Services and Legal Services.

What will you focus on?

When managing a caseload of capital and network projects, your will carry out tasks such as; providing advice on the Company's statutory powers, issuing Statutory Notices, land referencing, preparing valuations and budgets, negotiating compensation claims, acquiring land, landowner liaison and consultation, agreeing and advising on accommodation and reinstatement works, providing advice on pipe route and site selection, compound licenses, assisting with Magistrates Warrants of Entry, Upper Tribunal (Lands chamber) referrals, CPO inquiries, representing the Company at meetings with key stakeholders and much more.

What do you need?

To succeed in these roles you will hold a Land and/or Property Management Degree accredited to the RICS.  For the Property Area Manager and Senior Surveyor roles, you will be a qualified Chartered Surveyor (Rural, Commercial or Valuation Practice) and for the Property Surveyor and Assistant Property Surveyor roles, you will preferably be a qualified Chartered Surveyor or an APC Candidate working towards RICS Chartered Membership. 

You will also have the necessary experience to succeed in the given role gained by previously working for a water company or similar utility provider. For the Property Area Manager role, you will also have a proven track record of successfully managing and leading teams.
