Real Estate Investment Manager, who co-invest with PE partners, are looking for an Investment / Asset Analyst to join a growing team. They had a very busy 2020 and are extremely acquisitive in certain sectors at the moment, whilst also disposing of other asset classes for additional liquidity, and hence there is a lot of complex excel modelling work to be done across both investment and divestment deals. The position will also involve working closely with Asset Managers, running models for repositioning assets, changing lease structures and re-modelling tenant mix; and reporting to JV Partners so it’s an incredibly varied role. Their portfolio is Commercial property as opposed to Residential, and is all in the UK. Ideal candidates will be working in a RE Advisory firm, attached to either a Commercial Valuations or Investment/Capital Markets team in an analytical position. They are looking for someone with a good mix of Surveying/Property expertise and also very robust excel / modelling skills in Excel. 

Responsibilities:

  • Investment and Disposal Analysis
  • Development and Capex Appraisals
  • Preparing Performance Analysis
  • Internal and external reporting
  • Assisting in the Valuation process
  • Bi-annual portfolio forecasting
  • Assisting with strategy and research papers

Requirements

  • Strong financial modelling skills in excel, with the ability to create bespoke financial models including debt financing
  • Real Estate experience from another Investment or Asset Manager, PE Firm or perhaps a Commercial Surveying firm in an Analyst role attached to a Capital Markets team
  • Ability to read beyond the numbers and understand the tangible property behind the models
  • The ability to influence key stakeholders across a business through explaining numbers and models to less technically orientated people
  • Commercially astute and highly numerate with the ability to quickly identify risks and opportunities
  • Experience working in a fast paced environment, with robust reporting
  • Experience of Commercial Property essential, with any Retail or Leisure exposure very beneficial
  • Solution focused with ability to challenge processes and identify improvements to enhance ways of working
