Job Details

Our client is a significant provider of living space across two continents. Over the past two years, the company has transitioned into a global business, with offices and upcoming projects in the USA and Mainland Europe, iin addition to London.  Tnew he Group Financial Controller appointment will be a unique opportunity to be part of the business’ fast-growing Finance team. You will join the very heart of the business, working with the Finance team and the other functions within the business, in order to help deliver ambitious expansion plans globally. An individual from a hospitality and/or real estate background would be ideal, but individuals with experience of a consumer facing business will be highly relevant.

The Main Responsibilities will be:

  • Working with the CFO and UK & Europe Finance Director to establish finance target operating model (FTOM) aligned to the requirements of the business.
  • Producing management accounts, statutory accounts, external investor and lender reporting, board reporting.
  • Creating monthly and annual reports to identify results, trends, and financial forecasts
  • Managing cash flow by tracking transactions and regularly reviewing internal reports
  • Establishing and maintaining fixed asset register ensuring correct accounting treatment for all items
  • Overseeing the establishment of financial operating procedures for decentralised finance teams.
  • Developing budgets and financial plans for the company based on research and data reports
  • Reviewing all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction opportunities
  • Examining all financial reports and data closely to check for discrepancies
  • Creating systems to prevent errors in data collection and calculations
  • Reporting with timely and accurate financial information

The Successful Candidate will be:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Accounting qualification – ACA with demonstrable technical strength and experience 
  • Experience with large-scale, multi-site operations in either leisure, retail, technology, real estate, hospitality or another consumer facing industry
  • Real estate experience will be useful (both development and operational real estate a definite bonus) 
  • Prior experience of finance transformation programmes
  • Knowledge of Workday Financials
  • Ideally have worked in a company that is a Plc or is moving towards an IPO or a trade sale
  • Track record of delivering significant improvements to the timing and accuracy and quality of financial reporting in short timeframes
  • Demonstrable experience in delivering a systems implementation on time and within budget
  • Experience of multi-site/entity/currency reporting structures with complex consolidations 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously, working under pressure and to tight deadlines
