We’re one of the UK’s leading housing associations with 34,000 homes and 1,200 employees. We're a strong business at a particularly exciting point in our evolution, particularly in the Counties region where we have ambitious plans for growth. We are inspired by the benefits of a diverse workforce. We encourage diversity and inclusion at all levels of our organisation and are fully committed to equality of opportunity.

The Role

As a Director of Land, Partnerships and Pre-construction, you will be responsible for all new development opportunities in the Counties region from initial feasibility all the way through to start on site (typically RIBA stage 0-4). You will lead, direct and develop a high-performance culture across both the Land and Partnership and Pre-construction functions, to ensure a seamless transition from acquisition through to planning, design and procurement of a delivery partner.

Your immediate focus will be on our considerable pipeline of existing opportunities which you will lead through the pre-construction phase into delivery, being responsible at all stages for the financial performance of all schemes

The focus on new acquisitions in the Counties is upon securing medium-long term opportunities such as JV partnerships with housebuilders on large multi-phased schemes and acquiring strategic opportunities which deliver our future programme.

You’ll establish excellent working relationships (internal and external) at executive and senior level and work collaboratively with your counterpart in the London region, in addition to the Director of Development Delivery in the Counties region. You will identify and financially evaluate new development opportunities to create a development pipeline enough to sustain a healthy development programme, acting as lead director and brand ambassador for all new development opportunities.

Key Requirements
You will have demonstrable and thorough experience in the acquisition of land and multi-tenure new business opportunities in our existing Counties geography. You will have experience of leading complex deal structures, joint ventures or partnership arrangements with housebuilders or other developer/investors. Your professional and academic qualifications will be relevant to your role – possession of an appropriate professional qualification is desirable. You will be naturally driven and ambitious, with a desire to lead Catalyst’s growth agenda in the Counties region, and embody our organisation’s focus on commerciality, yet to be driven by a social purpose. You will have excellent written skills, including experience of preparing succinct, professional report writing to board level. You’ll possess highly tuned coaching skills, with a track record of developing others and have a strong commitment to the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion.
