A Local Authority based in London are currently seeking an Interim Head of Place, to lead, plan, develop and deliver a range of expert professional services within Housing Operations.

Job Details

  • Manage and lead a team offering high quality housing services to council tenants ensuring that customer satisfaction and service levels are maintained and targets exceeded
  • Direct and indirect line management duties of around 30 staff including senior managers, team leaders and officers
  • Implement strategic actions to improve the service to ensure that the housing operations are appropriate for all customers and implement changes if required
  • Overall management responsibility for a budget of £25 million including staff budgets and major works project budgets
  • Act as the expert advisor on issues surrounding homeownership including major works queries, homeownership and estate management when liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Deal with any complex cases which have been escalated appropriately and ensure that enquiries are dealt with swiftly and sensitively

What you need

  • Senior management experience, including translating organisational drivers into strategic objectives, longer term plans, new ways of working and specific outcomes, for a portfolio of services in a large public sector organisation (preferably local government)
  • Evident knowledge in leading a team managing a housing service
  • Extensive knowledge of the major issues facing local government
