To protect London, the Met needs all kinds of support behind the scenes. For example, efficient estate management is crucial if we are to perform at our best. As Head of Engagement & Estate Strategy, you’ll implement the MOPAC Estate Strategy, which supports our overall policing plan. Join us and play your part in keeping the capital safe.

Leading the Estates Engagement Management function, you’ll connect with command units and make sure their accommodation requirements are met. It’s all about balancing demands and developing real estate solutions while maintaining the highest standards.

At the same time, you’ll lead and develop the MOPAC/Met Estate Strategy, ensuring it fits with our overall strategic direction. In effect, you’ll be an advocate for the strategy, explaining it to the organisation and winning their support to deliver it. Where possible, you’ll improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the estate to better meet policing needs. You’ll also oversee negotiations for any complex property deals as part of the wider PSD team.

Your role will bring you into contact with Board representatives, Senior Responsible Owners (SROs) for transformation programmes and frontline senior officers, as well as other Blue Light, GLA, London Borough and private property owners. You’ll look for collaborative approaches and joint solutions to wider property issues.

With relevant experience, you’ll be a skilled professional with energy and enthusiasm. You’ll thrive on dealing with multiple stakeholders and be resilient and pragmatic. A natural people person, you bring strong communication skills as well as technical expertise in your field. Above all, you’ll be committed to helping the Met do its best for the capital every day.

Completed applications must be submitted by 29th April 2021.

We view diversity as fundamental to our success. To tackle today’s complex policing challenges, we need a workforce made up from all of London’s communities. Applications from across the community are therefore essential.
