East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people's lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

This is an ideal opportunity for a Graduate to kick-start their career in property, within an experienced Estates Management team. The portfolio comprises over 1,900 assets including retail, office and industrial units, community assets such as playgrounds and open space, leisure centres, car parks, beach huts and operational properties. The portfolio also includes small-scale development opportunities as well as strategic land.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with valuations, negotiating the settlement of terms for rent reviews, lease renewals, and property acquisition and disposal. You will also assist with land and building surveys, inspecting properties, and undertaking estate management investigations.

The Council operates from two principal locations: Lowestoft and Melton. There is flexibility in where this position will be based, with a requirement to travel to assets situated within the District as well as some home working.

You will have a relevant degree and practical experience in a property related environment. Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential to provide professional support and advice to clients on a day-to-day basis. You must have outstanding organisational skills and initiative as you will be required to manage your own caseload.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development. We want you to stay with us for the long-term, so we'll give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There is also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, the majority of our teams are working from home and there are strict social distancing measures in place for the limited number of staff working from our offices. If you wish to discuss how that might impact your working arrangements if you were the successful candidate, please contact the recruiting manager.
