We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and professional individual to join us as Senior Manager Commercial Investment and Property, joining the Commercial Investment and Property team. This team is responsible for the delivery of the Council’s Corporate Estates function including reactive maintenance and management of the County Council’s assets - Corporate buildings and Schools, over 700 assets, and is a key element of the Council’s Enterprise Programme, supporting a commercial approach to income generation, commercial development and innovative service delivery.

You will be a key strategic leader of this service, which provides support to a diverse range of property requirements to ensure statutory compliance and management of the council’s portfolio to enable council functions to be delivered efficiently and effectively. The service also  includes the council’s Facilities Management and Economy and Infrastructure Directorate Support Services.

The successful candidate will drive the efficient and effective management and reshaping of the property portfolio to ensure it is aligned to the strategic ambition of the Council, generates income to support the financial sustainability of the organisation and ensure service requirements are met and are fit for purpose.

You will be joining the Council at an exciting time. With the prospect of Local Government Reorganisation, unprecedented change will require a high-quality candidate to continue to maintain and deliver a key enabling service at pace, sustaining already high levels of service delivery with particular focus over the term of the appointment to include:

*Delivery of the Council’s Property Asset Management Strategy 2020-2025

*Delivery of the Councils Carbon Management Strategy (Corporate Estate) 2020-2025

*Maintain a high performance and risk management regime for property related statutory compliance and health and safety

*Deliver the Council’s Annual Capital Receipts Programme

*Maximise income generation from the Council’s estate and landholdings

*Provide a good Facilities Management, Building Management and Directorate Support

Service

*Support the Council’s response to a Green Recovery

*Provide expert advice across all service areas

*Motivate and lead a team of high performing technical disciplines

This is a fixed term opportunity, until September 2022, and the post will report to the Assistant Director for Environment and Enterprise, acting in a deputy capacity when required.
