Role
As Group Design Director you will be responsible for leading the housetype/apartment design for the group. Through your experience, skill and commitment you will create designs that are attractive to both purchasers and planners and economic to construct. You will ensure that existing designs are continuously refreshed to remain relevant and compliant, developing new homes and ranges that both take into account customer and group feedback. You will create designs that are cutting edge and include sharp, strong and versatile elevations, outstanding street scenes and exceptional placemaking.

As an award winning, Five Star builder, quality of design is paramount and the Group Design Director appointment is key. The company operate from a UK-wide, set of regional offices and the role can be based from any of these to suit your home location. 

Person
We are seeking to appoint a highly creative, commercial architectural design professional (ideally RIBA qualified,) either from the housebuilding sector or from within a residential focussed, architectural practice. You will be able to evidence high levels of housetype design and placemaking knowledge, showing your ability to balance aesthetics with commercial design. You are comfortable communicating this effectively to both internal and external stakeholders and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Experience with AutoCAD/Revit and any other design software would be preferable. You are a confident, robust character who, when presenting your work is willing to both listen to critique and drive the agenda.
