This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your experience working across all aspects of commercial property management. You’ll be a key player in delivering high quality and financially sustainable commercial provision to the local community, involved in all aspects of commercial surveying, including neighbourhood shopping parades, industrial estates, land sales as well as two town centre holdings. You’ll be working with stakeholders from national and independent brands, representing the Council’s and local community interests.

We are committed to flexible working and achieving a good work-life balance with a mix of office and homeworking available. During this unprecedented time, we have ensured that our staff have the right tools and support to work remotely and have access to offices when necessary.

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council pride themselves on their commitment to their people – striving to ensure that each and every employee feels valued and happy in their work. Employees are empowered to influence and transform the services they deliver, no matter what level they’re at.

Whether you are looking for career development or a new challenge in a different sector, we want someone with solid knowledge and experience in commercial estates management, with a passion for delivering quality services. We welcome applications from experienced Estate Managers from either the public or private sector.

Managing a Surveyor (Estates), your role will be to ensure that the key objectives of the Council are achieved, through sound management of the portfolio, providing advice to senior officers on property transactions and negotiations, and management and control of property records.

A qualification in the field of property management is advantageous, but we also value the contribution that equivalent experience can make. We need someone who can hit the ground running, with expertise in rent reviews, lease renewals and valuations using the relevant legal frameworks, and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

Closing date for applications is midnight on 11th July 2021.

Interviews will be held on 21st July 2021.
