Job Details

A leading residential developer, investor and operator, focused on the London residential market has need to hire a Senior Investment Manager to acquire standing, mixed-use investments in central London that combine residential assets with retail, commercial and restaurant uses.

The purpose of this new strategy is to grow exposure to residential-led investments in highly desirable, infill London locations whilst also diversifying risk across different use classes. Since inception of the strategy they have acquired more than £70 million of mixed-use, residential-led investments. The plan is to grow the portfolio to £150-£200 million over the next 24 months, and to support this growth they are funded through a long-term $575 million capital commitment from a global real estate institutional investment vehicle.

The Senior Investment Manager will focus solely on driving the expansion of this new strategy. The individual will be responsible for:

  • Sourcing new opportunities off-market and on-market
  • Undertaking detailed analysis and underwriting of all new pipeline deals, identifying key risks and opportunities
  • Preparing investment materials for the CIO and the Executive Committee, including executive summaries pre-bid, investment committee papers and bank presentations
  • Leading negotiations and deal structure with vendors
  • Cradle to grave full responsibility on the execution of transactions, managing the full asset, legal, technical and financial due diligence
  • Management and oversight of the Investment Support team if required on an acquisition
  • Presenting to Senior Management and the Executive Committee on new acquisitions
  • Investment Support Team Direct Reports - if support is required on an acquisition: Investment Associate & Investment Analyst

  • In-depth knowledge of the central London residential and commercial real estate market
  • Broad network of agents and vendors with access to pipeline
  • Significant experience in acquisitions, managing and taking full responsibility for due diligence processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and thoroughness, with the focus to fully review leases, legal documents and surveys
  • Excellent financial modelling skills, with the ability to build and audit financial models used for acquisitions
  • Excellent verbal presentation skills
  • Excellent PowerPoint skills, with the ability to produce institutional quality materials
  • Experience of effectively managing a team
  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role

  • Demonstrate passion for real estate, in particular for mixed-use type assets
  • Ability to work well within a team, and the ability to effectively manage both downwards and upwards, and knowing when to keep Senior Management informed
  • Working well under pressure, and an understanding that live transactions may require working beyond normal working hours
