Head of Asset Management - Multi-Billion Pound Portfolio

Owner and operator of a multi-billion pound real estate portfolio across the UK are looking for a Head of Asset Management. They have just significantly expanded their holdings through a large acquisition, and now need a very experienced individual to take the lead on strategic management across the whole portfolio. This will involve getting to know the individual assets in order to become the established ‘owner’ of the investment portfolio, allocating appropriate investment into assets and regions to ensure the right properties are receiving the right levels of expenditure to drive returns; and growing a market leading team around you. You’ll be an integral part of their Property Board, and it’s a very high profile role both internally and to the wider RE industry.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership - Creation of a strategic plan to manage the performance of the entire real estate portfolio
• Analytical - Establish a data led approach to capex investment, ensuring investment in the right assets and in the right way
• Strategy - Provide recommendations on improving the property portfolio through defensive/accretive capex and asset management initiatives that improve earnings.
• Financial Leadership - Fully assess accretive asset management initiatives
• Innovation - Drive innovation using date-rich insights to secure sign-off on investment.
• People - Leadership of Asset Management team ensuring they have undertaken a detailed review of every asset to support a building asset plan. Be able to lead cross functional internal teams
• Risk Management – Identify and mitigate risk across the portfolio. Working with our Estates team to ensure assets are compliant and fit for sale/refinancing.
• Disposals – assisting Investment team in disposal plans
• Investor Management - Participate in investor reporting, both internally and externally
• Data Champion - Champion the usage of BI and oversee the implementation of a new system for building data management.

Requirements:

• 10+ yrs. of Asset Management experience with prior senior leadership responsibilities of multiple assets
• Experience working on operational assets such as hotels, BTR/PRS schemes, student accommodation, healthcare, etc
• Successful record of accomplishment and demonstrated experience with analysing complex investment issues, developing investment strategies and executing strategies to achieve results and effectively manage risk.
• Highly developed interpersonal, presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
• Leadership experience, with proven skills in developing and motivating a team to achieve high performance.
• Experience in operational real estate with proven experience in ‘sweating’ assets & developing capex plans
