Construction Director – London & UK – 85K
Our client, a well-known Real Estate Investor and Asset Manager is looking to hire an experienced Cost Manager who is looking to step up or take over the construction function for an expanding project based in the hospitality and retail sector.
The business is well backed and have partnered with a highly lucrative restaurant chain who have opened 10 + sites in as many months with plans to triple this in the next 24 months with sites across the UK.
The role will suite an experienced QS/Cost Manager with an extensive knowledge of the project management and construction world, ideally with a sound knowledge of the restaurant roll out world and all things retail construction and who is happy to travel throughout the UK on business as and when required.
Role Responsibility:
- To manage and oversee all restaurant developments in the UK
- To hire and build a team in due course
- Lead and manage the external consultant team (Architect, Project Manager, QS, M&E)
- Assist Board with preliminary site investigations, due diligence, budgeting, design
- Ensure compliance and correct processes are in place at all times
- Identify and manage supply chain including but not limited to building materials, FF&E, M&E
- Manage the bidding process, preparing bids, negotiating, bid levelling and selecting contactors based on core values, competency and reviews in sector
- Perform regular onsite reviews, monitor contractors, scheduling
- Project Cost management, weekly reporting to the board, driving costs down and negotiating effectively where necessary
- Work with the operations maintenance team and oversee that all sites are well maintain and managed effectively
- Play an active role in brand support and ensuring best practises are in place at all times
The role will have massive scope for growth, this is the first hire and once established, you will be tasked with building a team around yourself with the aim of taking the whole function in house.
Package: Up to 85K with car/car allowance
