Our client is a an entrepreneurial property asset manager and investor in the shopping centre, office and residential real estate markets in the UK.  They are seeking to a appoint a bright and enthusiastic financial controller to run the accounting and financial reporting for some of their exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accounting records and periodic reports in the form of a trial balance, profit and loss account, balance sheet and general ledger.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for the UK entities and responsible for the year end audit.
  • Check reports received from the property managers in relation to rent collection and payment of property expenses.
  • Monitor the flow of funds through a project’s bank accounts to ensure timely receipt of rental income, payment of invoices and compliance with banking covenants.
  • Ownership of the preparation of property and financial reports, including a budget and cash flow forecast on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to our partners and lending banks.
  • Liaising with the tax advisors in respect of tax computations and tax issues. 
  • Preparation and submission of VAT and CIS returns. Dealing with enquiries from HMRC. 
  • Liaise with our partners’ Fund Operations team and handle any queries in relation to Addington’s financial reporting.
  • Critically and continuously evaluate processes and procedures to ensure efficiency in data

The Candidate:

  • You will be confident, able to communicate verbally and in writing, have a critical eye for detail and be capable of growing with our business. The appointment will be at senior associate level.
  • The candidate will be able to performance manage an external team of service providers in the provision of detailed financial information to facilitate timely and accurate reporting to our partners and banks.
  • The candidate is likely to have had relevant experience in the residential or commercial real estate sector in the UK and is unlikely to have had less than three years post qualification experience.
  • The successful candidate will find ways to improve our existing systems and processes to drive efficiencies in our accounting and reporting to our partners
