Hampshire County Council Property Services is a 400-strong multi-disciplinary team working for the County Council and our partner organisations including other local authorities and public sector organisations across the southeast region. We are responsible for the safe stewardship of around 10,000 buildings on 1,000 sites and 8,500 hectares of land. 

Within Property Services (PS), we have a specialised Development Team comprising Development Surveyors, Town Planners and Urban Designers, and we are now recruiting for a range of exciting opportunities to suit different levels of experience for RICS qualified Development Surveyors to support the delivery of significant workstreams. For further information around the roles we currently have available, please visit Property Services Careers.

The Development Manager post is one of a number of leading roles to support the delivery of Property Services responsibilities for providing coordinated and comprehensive property and development surveying services and advice for development and disposal projects and programmes. This includes a major Strategic Land Programme of 15 sites across Hampshire, Capital Receipts Programme, individual property rationalisations, incidental disposals and other corporate estate property and valuation advice. In addition, the post holder will provide cross-departmental professional advice and will actively and positively contribute to management team functions across Property Services.

Although contractually office based in Winchester, flexible hybrid working is the norm across Property Services, utilising digital technology platforms.
