Safety Check Consultant - Central London - FTC 6 months

We are exclusively working on 5 fixed term assignments (minimum 6 months) at a global organisation with the roles being based in the West End.  Once training has been completed there will the option to work 1 or 2 days from home.  The client is looking for immediate starters to join a very important department looking after safety and compliance for a portfolio of over 6000 rented properties.

As a Safety Check Consultant you will be working for a firm that prides themselves on incredibly high levels of customer service. All the people within the property management team are highly professional, enthusiastic and talented property specialists. The company have a presence across the UK in a number of property markets and offer a variety of services to their clients, which range from private investors, corporate landlords, funds and individual homeowners/buyers.

The role of the Safety Check Consultant will be managing a portfolio of properties inside and outside of London, arranging all Statutory checks, ensuring full compliance with every check. The core of the role is taking responsibility for the smooth day to day running of a portfolio of around 1,000 properties, delivering the highest levels of customer service and attention to detail throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Client Care
  • To log, diarise and book gas safety inspections
  • To advise Let Only landlords of requirements and benefits of appliance servicing
  • To work with offices to ensure all appliances are captured and noted when a property is taken on
  • To log, diarise and book PAT and EICR tests
  • Where applicable to book Legionella checks
  • Undertake all remedial works that arise form checks that are carried out.
  • Report weekly or monthly as required to show compliance or any exceptions to compliance
  • Print off monthly error and warning reports for gas checks, PAT tests etc
  • Where required to obtain funds from landlords to pay for checks
  • Pay contractor invoices
  • Raise invoices for company fees for undertaking works
  • To monitor contractor performance and timeframes

Team:

  • Work closely with both Tenancy Progression and accounts to ensure all certificates are ready and available ahead of move ins and invoices paid.
  • Work with Lettings Offices to ensure the system correctly reports all appliances within each property.

Systems:

  • To check internal system for float, landlord’s instructions, gas inspection and PAT tests
  • To update the diary on our internal system for all safety checks and note next due dates

Professional experience and personal skills profile:

  • The ideal candidate will be able to work well within a team as well as individually, and will be a confident communicator and work well under pressure.
  • Must have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Be able to handle high volume without compromising the standards. 
  • Prioritising to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the letting process and accounts alongside basic knowledge of heating and hot water system, plumbing and electrical would be beneficial.
  • Level 3 Technical Award is preferred but not essential.

Whilst these roles are all fixed term contracts, there may be the opportunity for one or two to move to a permanent contract for the right candidate who seizes the opportunity and really proves themselves.
