Job Details

At Norwich Regeneration Limited, we help people to find homes to buy or rent. We’re wholly-owned by Norwich City Council, winner of the 2019 RIBA Sterling Prize, giving us a fantastic platform from which to promote commercial and construction excellence.

Our focus is on building affordable, efficient and well-managed homes on time and on budget. We invest our profits to accelerate residential growth within the city. Our developments include the delivery of much-needed social housing across Norwich.

Our success has seen us build 150 homes at Rayne Park and Trinity Gardens in Three Score and a number of other projects in the pipeline. It’s an exciting time to join us. In the next few years, a number of our projects will be coming to fruition with other new projects starting, all of which will help to drive our continued growth.

We’re always looking for ways to improve. As a non-executive board member, you’ll bring strategic steer, commitment, expertise and enthusiasm to help us achieve our ambitions.

The term of appointment will run for a three-year period.

About You

You’ll bring skills and expertise in either:

  • Residential property development, construction or design – ideally using modern construction methods
  • Commercial financial management or accountancy – preferably within a housing construction or property-led organisation.

Board experience would be desirable.

You should be available one to two days per month to attend and prepare for monthly board meetings in Norwich (telephone conferencing can be used on occasion). You’ll also need to be committed to CPD through conferences, training and workshops.

NORWICH CITY COUNCIL

Norwich is the largest city in the east of England, and has been a prosperous trading centre for the last 900 years. With strong business, cultural and historic links to mainland Europe, it’s the region’s hotspot for business, shopping, leisure and cultural activities. The city is served by a major regional airport, as well as an excellent road and rail network.

Norwich has always been a contemporary city, at the forefront of design and architecture throughout its history. The majestic Norman Cathedral, the Castle, the Royal Arcade, City Hall, the University of East Anglia and the Forum are cutting edge examples of their time.

We have museums, galleries, theatres, cinemas, pubs and clubs, mouth-watering restaurants and cosmopolitan cafes – you’ll never be at a loss for something to do with your spare time, day or night.

Take it from us when we say Norwich is simply a superb place to live and work. Better still, why not come and find out for yourself, we can offer some excellent benefits including a final salary pension scheme, flexible working arrangements and a minimum of 25 days annual holiday excluding public holidays.

As an equal opportunities employer, we guarantee disabled applicants who meet the person specification and interview.
