How rewarding is your role?

So many of us search endlessly on job boards trying to find our “dream role”. Something that ticks all the boxes, whether that be generous pension, flexible working, or a bountiful amount of annual leave.

As an employer, it is near impossible to tick every box for everyone, but one undeniable factor that resonates to all of us is we feel good when we give back. No matter who we are or where we’re from, the act of generosity is a universal feeling of positivity.

What if I told you that you can give back through your work?

The Salvation Army always want to do more. Starting off on the streets of East London back in 1865, they pride themselves in giving back to society’s most vulnerable and marginalised people. From running soup kitchens to setting up shelters for the homeless, their movement has spread to more than 130 countries. With a mission to offer practical support and services, their diverse portfolio consisting of more than 3,000 properties need to be regularly surveyed and maintained by experienced and empathetic Building Surveyors.

Could that be you?

You'll be home based and live in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire or Berkshire , you will use your surveying and project management knowledge to maintain and service an occupied mixed portfolio including residential (both domestic and social centres), churches, offices, and shops within the Central South England patch.

Projects ranging up to 300k you’ll take a lead role on, ensuring successful delivery of both planned and cyclical works from initial inspection to through to quality measurement and sign off. You’ll demonstrate your written and verbal communication skills to liaise with not only the Property team, but also internal customers, external consultants and conveying ideas and procedures effectively to stakeholders.

Being a part of The Salvation Army means more than just a competitive salary. It means flexible, homebased working, generous pension, and annual leave, as well as a company car. There is also a large scope of progression within the Property team which you can use, enjoy and engage with during your employment with them.

If you’re ready to take that next career step, or know someone who is, apply now or drop me a message on LinkedIn (Sasha Brown) and we can have a chat.

Oyster Partnership have partnered exclusively with The Salvation Army. Any direct or third-party applications will be forwarded to Oyster Partnership.
