Acquisitions Director

Salary
£150,000 salary + competitive bonus
Closing date

We are very excited to be working once again with one of our longstanding London based family clients. We have been instructed to scour the market for an Acquisitions Director to sit closely with this small yet dynamic team, working on an exciting property portfolio of c.£350m, which is invested in various locations in the UK.

The portfolio strategy is to focus on locations with potential for regeneration and redevelopment with high demand for office in the main, but also retail, industrial and mixed-use developments. Favoured locations to date include the London region, Brighton, Oxford, Bristol and Cambridge. Assets in the London region will have values up to £100m and those in the regions £20m - £30m, keeping the right amount of liquidity in the portfolio. Our client retains additional holdings in the North of the UK as well.

The investment strategy of the business is to maximise the value of the assets through planning and development, redeveloping and repurposing existing properties, increasing density, improving rental and lease income and constructing new-build assets appropriate for their given locality. The portfolio has unlimited growth potential as the fund grows in value, profits are re-invested for future acquisitions and funds are also available for further purchases and developments.

A key feature of the property portfolio is that there is no debt, no borrowing needs enabling the business to act very quickly when appropriate assets come to the market. This provides the new incumbent with the chance to work closely with the family, enabling quick and actionable decisions without the time delay that may otherwise have been experienced in previous roles.

Reporting directly to the owner, the Acquisitions Director will inform, influence and be a part of implementing the investment strategy. You will be responsible for the origination of the investment deal, due diligence, structuring and execution of transactions and will advise the owner on existing and new investments. The candidate will ideally be a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) with a minimum of 10 years' direct real estate investment and acquisitions experience. It is important to note this is not a role for a fund manager!

The successful candidate will have previously worked for a top 10 real estate consultancy prior to moving to a property company, ensuring that that candidate has the relevant experience that is required for this important role.

It will be essential that the individual will have a deep and extensive professional network in the UK and knowledge of UK real estate, complimented with a track record of success. Our client is looking for a true professional that understands a small business set up and is prepared to work closely with different parts of the team ensuring the continued success for our client.

There is no doubt that the market is continuing to improve and our client will be looking to capitalise on this.

This is an opportunity to inform, influence and implement investment strategy working with an excellent small team of professionals.

The candidate will be financially rewarded with a remuneration package that reflects the key achievements
attained.
