In this role you will be focused on further developing our commercial partnerships, property and asset management strategies in order to improve lives of the residents of the fourth fastest growing city in the UK, a place with prospects, potential and great economic development ambition.

As a member of our extended leadership team you will provide strategic direction, leadership, management and financial control for the planning, delivery and commercial management of the Council’s varied relationships, land, property estate and asset management functions.

You will advise, review and deliver across our commercial partnerships, companies and contracts and be lead client for the Council’s involvement in a range of contracts or joint ventures. Leading on the delivery of the Council’s Strategic Asset Management Plan you will ensure the Council’s assets deliver financial and social return on investment and outcomes

You will be ambitious to deliver dynamic investment and asset management strategies and programmes that support the Council’s ambitions for growth and optimise return on Investment and the value of the corporate estate.

To achieve these goals, you’ll bring clear leadership and innovation, lead a high-quality team, support our sustainable growth initiatives, and develop and manage strategic relationships with a number of partners and stakeholders.

You will provide clear, compelling and inspiration leadership across the Council and champion innovation through your open-minded approach to new and radical ways to the delivery of services. You’ll also promote a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging creativity and the sharing of ideas.

To be a success in this role you’ll bring experience of working in a similar role and organisation, private or public sector; relevant professional qualifications and be capable of providing balanced strategic advice and guidance in a political setting and be committed to working with partners and communities.
