Title:  Data Journalist / Researcher – Marketing (Contractor)

Contract type: 3-days/ week

1-year fixed term with the potential to extend to a permanent role

Description

Within this role you are responsible for writing content that highlights EG’s data solutions across a range of projects (including reports, infographics, website content, articles, case studies etc.), conducting research and interviews to support the writing process. You’ll have the opportunity to work closely with multiple business units to unearth major stories and insights and combine this with industry insight to create content that showcases EG’s data solutions to our customers.

The successful researcher will have a versatile writing style and the ability to pivot between multiple assignments to support the Portfolio, and wider Marketing team in creating pieces that drive high quality leads for our sales team.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Putting the customer at the heart of our data focused content pieces
  • Create and edit original copy that is accurate, well-researched, and meets the company’s needs and deadlines.
  • Conduct research and communicate with internal stakeholders and thought leaders to formulate ideas or support writing
  • Work with relevant stakeholders across the business to agree messaging framework and house styles with guides and support for marketing content
  • Be the first point of call for reviewing content from the regional marketing team to ensure consistency.
  • Ensuring our external PR agency is equipped with key data focused stories to share with journalists

 

What you need to bring to EG:

  • 3-4 years’ demonstrated experience with strong marketing writing in a B2B environment
  • A curious and genuine interest in technology and marketing
  • Editorial mindset that seeks to understand what audiences consume and how to create it
  • Creativity, resourcefulness, flexibility, and motivation
  • Skilled in analysis of data to draw out key insights for content pieces

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication
  • Solid project management, planning and organisational skills
  • Strong research skills
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and creative skills
