Our client is a significant housebuilder developing a wide range of traditional homes and low-rise apartments. Due to business expansion they now wish to appoint a hands-on Commercial Manager to focus on the interface between the company and the main contractors/sub-contractors undertaking work on their behalf. Key aspects include:

• Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible for all commercial pre-construction activity across several sites including structures & civils infrastructure
• With responsibility for technical design co-ordination, procurement, contract management, regulatory approvals, programmes, cost plans/cash flows
• Advise on the best procurement route for the contractor(s), managing the procurement process of the consulting and contractors for the projects
• Ensure that workflow is clear and transparent, and that risk is mitigated with strong relationships developed with the contractor base

We are keen to speak with experienced, technically competent commercial professionals, you could be working for a housebuilder, main contractor or within consultancy. You have experience of liaising with design teams and administering construction contracts. Key to the role will be effective procurement/management of consultants and contractors alongside effective liaison with external stakeholders in delivering individual projects within wider regeneration developments on time and to budget.
