The Role

We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our Development and Regeneration team to support a programme of transformative change in Stockport. If you are passionate about urban regeneration and are experienced in delivering complex physical development projects, we would love to hear from you!

Stockport is experiencing an exciting period of growth and development. Our borough is undergoing a significant transformation with unprecedented investment in recent years. Our £1bn regeneration programme is revitalising the town centre, creating new homes and jobs, attracting businesses, and establishing Stockport as a fantastic place to live, work, play, and connect.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Development and Regeneration Manager who can think commercially and innovatively to help us realise our vision for Stockport and advance our pipeline of projects. In this role, you will manage a variety of mixed-use projects, collaborating with contractors, developers, and stakeholders to deliver physical development and regeneration schemes on time and within budget.

Please apply with a CV and a covering letter that covers your relevant experience and how you meet the criteria in the job profile.

Our Team

Our team is at the forefront of facilitating and delivering physical development and regeneration schemes across the borough, either directly or through development partners. Working closely with our colleagues at Stockport’s Mayoral Development Corporation (MDC), we are driving forward some of the most ambitious regeneration projects in the North West, maintaining our reputation for achieving results and driving transformative change.

Key Requirements

Passionate about regeneration and experienced in brokering and delivering physical regeneration and development projects in complex urban environments.

Able to identify development opportunities, confidently negotiate, and work proactively with developers, investors, and stakeholders to deliver schemes at pace and to a high standard.

Have a proven track record of managing large-scale projects through the development process, appointing and managing professional teams, identifying and mitigating risks, and overseeing programme and budget management.

Bring enthusiasm to the team, have a flexible approach to work, be results-focused and dedicated to delivering transformative change in Stockport on behalf of our residents.

Our Council

At Stockport Council we are one ambitious team on a mission to create opportunities for everyone who lives, works and spends time in the borough. We’re keen to recruit people with the right values and behaviours that can help us ensure our workplace values are at the heart of everything we do.

We are proud to be recognised under the Good Employment Charter as an organisation committed to the wellbeing of our colleagues. As members of the charter, we have been recognised as a great place to work for all colleagues and pledge to pay the real living wage, engage staff in key decisions and endorse fair and flexible working conditions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful regeneration team within an ambitious Local Authority known for its proactive approach and established track record of delivery. The role will offer you the opportunity to:

  • Be at the forefront of substantial regeneration and development activities in Stockport
  • Work in a supportive and enthusiastic team environment
  • Work flexibly in a team with a strong focus on results
