A bit about the role...

Working across the Southern Disposals Teams, and reporting to one of the Senior Development Managers you will play a critical role in providing commercially focussed disposal input into the acquisition, due diligence, de-risking and bringing forward of land and projects through the development pipeline.

This will culminate in you leading or supporting on the disposal of sites, large and small, to both our national house builder partners as well as our regional and more local development partners.  For this we use our DPS (Dynamic Purchasing Panel) Framework and our Framework Panel of National and Regional Agents.

There may also be opportunities to work on our large sites projects (1,000 to 10,000 homes) and to support on the development and sale of District Centres and other employment space.

You will be joining our collaborative and highly skilled team of surveyors, planners, project managers and engineers who are committed to making positive change in how high-quality homes and places are delivered through the use of our landholdings and via partnership working.

Our team believe in delivering a first-class customer service, resolving complex planning and site delivery matters wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach. We believe in working in a collaborative and flexible way to foster good decision making and problem solving to unlock critical new developments.

This is a chance to help shape the future development pipeline of major projects with schools, employment opportunities, leisure/recreation and associated uses. We are a national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and professional in-house and consultant teams you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of barriers to development. You will have the opportunity to help create value for the public purse whilst also leaving a legacy of high-quality homes and place making.

The role will support the design and delivery of various residential led projects around the South of England. There are some exciting and ambitious projects to get involved with both large and small.  This may include some regeneration/ brownfield opportunities.  Finally, it is an excellent opportunity to balance day to day delivery whilst bringing innovative solutions such as encouraging quality of Design, Modern Methods of Construction and Future Homes Standard to the Agency’s Disposals Team offering.

A bit about you…

As a creative and collaborative property professional, you will be used to managing multiple projects including internal and external consultant teams and prioritising work whilst always looking for ways to improve and innovate.

Ideally, but not essential, you will be educated to degree level, have a development, design or infrastructure related qualification (MRICS, MRTPI or other relevant qualification) or be working towards one with relevant experience within the industry.

In the latter case, Homes England has an extensive personal & learning development programme and, where there is a business need, we may be prepared to fund your educational needs to obtain a professional qualification.  We have an active network of Chartered Surveyors & Planners who support colleagues aspiring to be surveyors & planners with their training needs.

Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn’t always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing and engaging with stakeholders and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a disposals team. You will enjoy working in an innovative and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade. You will understand and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.

Who are we?

We are the Government’s national housing agency. Our role is to accelerate the pace of house-building across the country, particularly in areas where there are the most serious affordability issues – meaning people are struggling to find homes.

We have the appetite, influence, expertise and resources to drive positive market change and meet the Government’s ambition to deliver 300,000 new homes a year. We are using our land, influence, funds and knowledge to increase the pace, scale and quality of new homes accelerating delivery in areas of greatest demand and helping create great places to live.

We would encourage you to apply using the full application option as opposed to quick apply, this is especially important if you would like to indicate to us that you would like to be considered under the disability confident scheme.

What we offer...

We understand how important life is outside of work so, as well as a competitive salary and 33 days annual leave, we are open to flexible working. We’ll support you, wherever possible, so that you don’t miss out on what truly matters to you.

Our range of network groups are also there to support you to truly be yourself at work and play a key role in helping shape our future.

If you are a member of a professional body, we’ll pay for your membership and once you get your top of the range digital kit you’ll be good to go in one of our great offices.
